Okay, I admit that my Fall 2021 anime must-watch list isn’t that much different from the last season. The only thing that is different this time is that I watch more anime, unlike the last time.
And that brings us to this question – is this season’s anime a total dud?
To be frank, I won’t go as far as saying that this season is filled with so many duds. Whether you consider the anime to be a gem or a dud will depend on your anime preference.
In my case, I will say that there are quite a few of them that have an interesting premise. And I’d love to give them a try if time isn’t an issue for me.
But with me making a conscious decision to spend most of my time reading and clearing up my game’s backlog, I can only commit to a handful of them.
And that doesn’t include the anime that is still ongoing from the previous seasons.
Thus, a short anime list.
If you’re wondering about what other anime comes out this season, you can take a look at this list right here.
My Fall 2021 anime must-watch list
While most of the anime that I’m currently watching right now is mainly the continuation from the previous season, I have to say that there are quite a few of them that caught my attention at first.
But only a handful of them made it to my list.
So, what you’re seeing here is the anime that I will keep on watching until the new season is upon us.
With that said, let’s take a look at which Fall 2021 anime that I’m currently watching right now.
I also mention which manga I decided to give it a try once the anime is over and there’s no news that we’ll ever get a second season for the anime.
Isekai Shokudou S2
While we do have plenty of anime that revolves around food, I find that the premise behind Isekai Shokudou is rather interesting.
For one, who would have guessed that the people from another world would react to the food that is common to us.
Well, that can be common to the Japanese. But that’s certainly not me.
Believe me, I will still react the same way as these people considering that these delicacies never existed in the world that they live in.
Even if it does, the food that they eat in Nekoya is never the same as the one that they have in their world.
It’s because of this reason that every single one of them is eager to come to this restaurant on the seventh day.
Or what they called the Day of Satur.
If you enjoy watching anime like Shokugeki no Soma, then you certainly will enjoy watching Isekai Shokudou as well.
Just be careful not to watch this anime on an empty stomach, though. It will only make you drool.
You can choose to read the manga or light novel for those who can’t get enough of Isekai Shokudou.
For the obvious reason, I always recommend people to get the light novel version whenever possible.
But if the light novel isn’t your thing, that’s fine too.
You can get the light novel or the manga right here on Amazon:

Just to let you know that you should watch this anime from the first season so then you’ll have an idea of who these characters are and why they prefer a certain food whenever they drop by at Nekoya.
Kimetsu no Yaiba S2
To be honest, I was a little worried to watch the second season of Kimetsu no Yaiba. The reason for that is because I didn’t get to watch the movie when it came out.
Unlike most anime movies where the story isn’t related to the main story, the story in Kimetsu no Yaiba movie is a continuation from the first season.
I’m not sure if the story in the second season will tie back to the story in the movie. Even if it’s only a little, I’m sure that it can still be confusing to watch going forward when you have no idea what happened in the last arc.
Fortunately, the Mugen Train arc which is the arc that was made into a movie is currently on air right now.
The second season of the anime will only begin in December.

Sakugan
The underground civilization and the father-daughter ragtag team go on an adventure exploring the undeveloped areas known as Labyrinth. That sums up what Sakugan is all about.
I’m not sure if the anime version is more or less exactly like the novel since I’ve never read the novel before.
But I won’t be surprised at all that some parts of the information in the novel didn’t make it into the anime version.
That seems to be the case pretty much for any manga and light novel adaptations.
So far, I do enjoy the premise behind this anime. But the story can be a little chaotic from time to time.
At least the story in Sakugan isn’t as chaotic as the one in Dandadan manga, though. That manga takes the biggest cake when it comes to characters getting wrapped up in a chaotic hot mess.
If you love the story about the characters going on a journey to explore the unknown while meeting new people in between, then you’re going to enjoy watching this anime.
Taishou Otome Otogibanashi
This anime somehow reminded me of Shinigami Bocchan to Kuro Maid with the exception that this anime takes place in the Taisho era.
And the male character, Tamahiko, has been discarded by his family due to him no longer being able to use his right hand after surviving the accident that took his mom’s life away.
On top of that, we also have the female character, Yuzuki where her family had to sell her to the Shima family to pay off their debt. Not only she was being sold to the Shima family. But she also had to look after Tamahiko who is now living in the family’s vacation house in the rural area.
Compared to Shinigami Boccahn to Kuro Maid, the story in Taishou Otome Otogibanashi is rather grim. And it can feel a little dark too whenever Tamahiko recalled the terrible things that he experienced all his life.
Of course, there are some happy moments in the story as well. But for the most part, the story tends to be about the harsh reality of someone growing up in a rich and influential family.
It’s too bad that the manga isn’t licensed in English as I write this.
But I do plan to read this manga if it does get licensed in English.
World Trigger S3
Just to let you know that the manga is already way ahead by the time the third season comes out. But amazingly enough, I find that seeing the same scenes but in the anime form feels somewhat refreshing to me.
That shows how long has it been since I read the Rank War arc in the manga.
If you’re new to World Trigger, I do recommend that you give this anime a try. But you do need to watch from the beginning if you want to understand the story better.
This is another manga that I do plan to buy. But I’m not sure if I want to get the manga in digital or in print, though.
I’m currently reading the manga through MANGA Plus, in case you’re wondering.
If you prefer to catch up with the anime by reading the manga, you can get the manga right here on Amazon:
