When you take a look at my summer 2024 anime list, you may find it strange that Tasuuketsu is not on the list.
So, why am I not watching Tasuuketsu?
Isn’t the anime where people are dying everywhere my kind of anime?
As a thriller author, I admit that anime like Ron Kamonohashi is my jam.
But not Tasuuketsu, though.
The anime reminds me of Ousama Game from the get-go.
If there’s one thing I hate the most about anime like Ousama Game it’s that there’s no logical explanation for how this condition comes about.
It looks as if these characters’ misfortune causes them to end up in a life-and-death situation.
Since my goal for every season is not to watch too many anime, I’m fine with not watching Tasuuketsu despite the anime being labeled as a thriller anime by Anichart.
Besides, I have no reason to watch Tasuuketsu when there are plenty of amazing anime to watch this season.
My summer 2024 anime must-watch list
Unlike the previous season, the anime that continues from the previous season tends to dominate my summer 2024 anime must-watch list for the most part.
Does it mean I’m not watching any new anime this season?
Well, I do have a few of them on my list.
Even better? They’re all the anime adaptations of the manga and light novels that I’ve recommended in the past on my blog.
If you’re looking for new manga and light novels to read, then these are some of them that you can add to your reading list.
And if you’re looking for a complete list of the anime that comes out this summer, you can take a look at them right here.
With that said, here are the anime that I’m currently watching this season.
Fairy Tail – 100 Years Quest
Well, this one is pretty obvious considering that I’ve watched the anime from the beginning till the end.
If you’re familiar with the story in Fairy Tail, then the sequel isn’t that much different from the main story.
You still get to see the characters’ wackiness.
But unlike the main story, it has more fan service. And they seem bolder too.
While the story in the sequel is a brand new story, I still recommend that you watch the Fairy Tail anime from the beginning.
Yes, I admit it’s a lot.
But if you prefer to catch up with the story through manga, you can get the manga right here:
Fairy Tail Vol. 1 manga on Amazon
And if you’re thinking about getting the 100 Years Quest manga, you can get the manga right here as well:

Monogatari Series – Off & Monster Season
Some of you who watch every Monogatari series anime must be wondering what is there left to say.
Aren’t things related to Araragi already over at this point?
Well, you’re right.
The story that has to do with Araragi and everyone around him is already over at this point.
But the story in this Monogatari series doesn’t revolve around Araragi anymore.
The story this time revolves around his sister, Tsukihi, and her friend, Nadeko, instead.
Like any other Monogatari series, this one has the same fanfare as the previous ones.
You know, things like subtitles everywhere on the screen?
Despite the subtitles being all over the screen, it’s still an interesting anime to watch if you’re into Japanese folklore and supernatural stuff.
This is another anime that I don’t recommend you jump head-on if you’ve never watched any of the Monogatari series before.
You should watch the anime from the beginning for better context.
I admit that Monogatari series tend to have many different names since each of them has many different arcs.
If you do want to follow the correct order, then I will recommend that you start with Kizumonogatari.
And if you want to watch according to the anime release date, then you can begin by watching Bakemonogatari first.
As always, you can read my post here if you’re curious about the light novel:
NieR Automata Ver 1.1a
What is the point of watching the second season of the anime when the story in the anime is nothing like the one in the game?
On top of that, the story in the anime seems jumbled up too.
Did Square Enix happen to take the cue from Bandai Namco for what they did to Tales of Zestiria and God Eater anime by any chance?
It sure does look like that to me if you ask me.
To be honest, I’m not sure what Square Enix is cooking here.
But I will say that the anime isn’t as bad as it seems despite the story being nothing like the source material.
My warning for this anime is the same as the last one – watch the anime from the beginning for better context.
This is another anime that you should never jump head-on without watching the first season.
Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi
Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi is what you would expect from the same mangaka behind Assassination Classroom.
The story may seem dark to some people, with betrayal from someone you trust being at the forefront of this story.
But it also has witty moments too.
This anime is nothing like your typical historical anime where it uses a lot of modern references to illustrate the point.
If you enjoy watching historical anime and you love Assassination Classroom, then this anime is a must-watch.
And if you’re thinking of giving the manga a try, then you can read my post about the manga here if you’re curious:
Oshi no Ko
Wait, how in the world do characters in Oshi no Ko end up looking like they’re coming from the same era as Tokiyuki?
Are they paying homage to the Elusive Samurai anime or something?
Well, of course, the answer is no.
That’s what the story for the second season is all about where Aqua, Kana, and Akane are getting involved with the Tokyo Blade stage play.
Thus, the key visuals look as if they’ve been transported back to the same era as Tokiyuki.
While you can jump straight into watching the second season without watching the first one, I still recommend that you watch from the beginning for better understanding.
And if you’re thinking about catching up through manga, you can read my post about the manga right here if you’re interested:
Ramen Akaneko
Out of all the anime I’ve listed here, this is by far the one I’m looking forward to the most.
Well, what’s not to like about the story when it gives you a wholesome feeling in every episode?
This anime is indeed a must-watch if you’re a cat lover and a sucker for a cat who can make a delicious ramen.
But it’s also perfect for those who are looking for something light and wholesome to watch.
And if you’re thinking about giving the manga a try? You can read my post about the manga right here:
