As usual, I like to keep my spring 2026 anime must-watch list short, just like I would with the previous anime list.

What’s more, it contains a wide variety of anime, too, not just the anime that continues from the previous season.

While it’s not unusual for me to watch pretty much any anime as long as it has an interesting premise, it can feel rather strange that I insist on keeping my list shorter.

For all we know, I may end up only watching one or two anime throughout the season as the year goes by.

Whether I will reach that point is something that I’m not sure of.

But all I can say is, keeping my must-watch anime list short will be my policy moving forward.

With that said, here are the spring 2026 anime that I’m currently watching right now.

Ace of Diamond Act II S2

To be honest, I never thought this anime would get a second season.

Not that the anime was terrible or anything

It’s just that it’s been so long since the first season ended that I have completely forgotten about it.

I guess it makes sense we will get a second season, considering that the manga has ended a few years ago.

So, should you give this anime a try?

I will say yes, even if you’re not into sports anime.

But I recommend that you watch from the beginning for better context.

And when I say beginning, I don’t mean the beginning of Act II.

I was referring to the first part when Sawamura joins Seidou for the first time.

Yes, the first part is pretty long.

But it doesn’t feel that way when you have to continue watching the anime nonstop only because each episode always ends in a cliffhanger.

Dr. Stone S4

It’s obvious that the anime will be on the list, considering how much I enjoy the story.

All I can say is give this anime a try if you want to watch something that allows you to learn something new and fascinating.

I promise it’ll be worth your time despite its educational premise.

Hidarikiki no Eren

Here’s my honest confession: I don’t think I would care to watch the anime if it’s not because of the manga on MANGA Plus that begins with Chapter 207.

Wait, what?

What happened to the other 206 chapters?

Please don’t say the Internet gremlin ate them or something?

To be honest, I don’t know the logical reason behind the MANGA Plus’ decision to begin the story with Chapter 207.

But my money is on the idea that they want us to get interested in the anime through the latest manga chapter.

If that’s the reason behind that decision, you can say that it works.

I actually did give the anime a try because I want to know how it all begins and who in the world is Eren?

It’s rather strange that you don’t see Eren anywhere in Chapter 207 onwards when her name is in the title.

Putting that aside, should you give this anime a try?

If you’re curious about what it takes to thrive in the creative industry, especially as an artist, then this anime is for you.

As someone who makes a living from my own creative work, I have to admit that the message in the story somehow hits home with me.

Honzuki no Gekokujou S4

Yup, another anime that I expect to see continue this season.

But then again, it’s somehow expected since the previous season ended with Myne starting a new life as the archduke’s adopted daughter.

If you’re someone who is into the reincarnation in another world story, then you probably think that Honzuki no Gekokujou is just another run-of-the-mill isekai anime.

But I will say it’s truly one of the isekai anime that I enjoy the most.

My only issue with the anime version is that they simplified how Urano reincarnated as Myne.

Rather than fleshing out how it came about, you only knew about Urano’s brief story in less than 5 minutes.

In that case, I do recommend that you read the light novel if you want to know more about Myne’s previous life.

Other than that, this is indeed the isekai anime that I highly recommend.

As always, you will have to watch from the beginning for better context since this isn’t the sort of anime that you can jump straight into.

Kill Ao

For the longest time, the Kill Ao manga was one of the manga that I always looked forward to reading when it was still running on Shonen Jump.

But to my surprise, I never thought that I would enjoy the anime version even more.

While the story has a similar premise to Detective Conan, this time we have a legendary hitman who turns into a middle school kid, the story is anything but interesting.

And if you’re looking for action scenes with a creative spin, like you would in Sakamoto Days?

Well, the anime has it, too.

But what makes Kill Ao different from Sakamoto Days is that it’s a mish-mash of stories from different genres.

One moment, you have a scene that resembles the one you see from Shokugeki no Soma.

And the next thing you know, we have an intense sports battle between two people.

I don’t know how far the anime version will cover since I doubt the first season will be a long one.

My thoughts about the Kill Blue manga

LIAR GAME

Please tell me that I’m not the only one who finds the female protagonist, Nao, irritating.

It’s great that you don’t believe an ex-conman like Akiyama is a bad guy.

But to trust people blindly, thinking that they will do you no wrong?

That’s a recipe for disaster.

It got you thinking if she ever learns her lesson after being conned by her own teacher and the lawyer who suddenly wants to represent her out of his own goodwill.

Believe me, it was painful to watch when you have this kind of character who can be this naïve and a total idiot when it comes to people.

So, what is it that makes LIAR GAME worth watching when Nao is unbearable to watch?

Well, what makes the story interesting isn’t so much to do with Nao, but rather it’s Akiyama.

For one, the fact that he skillfully takes back the money that Nao’s teacher had conned her into giving to him.

And that only barely scratches the surface.

It’s too bad that the manga isn’t licensed for the English release as I write this.

So, your only option is to watch the anime for now.

Tadaima, Ojamasaremasu!

Have you ever thought that the apartment building you live in turns out to be a nest for creators of all kinds?

You name it – the best-selling mangaka, author, and even the debut mangaka.

That will be a heaven-sent for someone like Rinko, an office lady who is secretly an otaku.

But it can be problematic when the apartment she lives in now has two giant holes on each side of the wall, connecting to her neighbor’s house.

Thank goodness her neighbor turns out to be a bestselling mangaka, and the other one is an author.

And because of those giant holes in the wall, she now has to cook for both of them.

While the story tends to be wacky most of the time, it does touch upon the very thing that hits us home.

And that is how people perceive what we actually like.

When it comes to this kind of story, we probably think it’s anime, manga, and video games since those are the sort of things that get scorned the most.

But in Rinko’s case, it’s her fascination with children’s books.

To be honest, I don’t get why people would scorn her for liking something like that.

But hey, people assume you should outgrow those kinds of childish books when you’re an adult.

It’s like telling you that you should stop watching Kamen Rider since only kids watch that show.

This anime can be a good addition to your must-watch list if you want to watch something that is on the lighter side but still touches upon a deeper theme.
