Summer 2025 Anime Blog Banner

Okay, I admit that my summer 2025 anime list doesn’t consist of any new anime, save for the Zutaboro Reijou wa Ane no Moto Konyakusha ni Dekiai sareru anime.

That’s the only new anime I’m watching this season.

The rest of them are the anime that I watched a few seasons back.

So, what’s with the lack of new anime to watch?

Are there no new interesting anime to watch this season?

Well, I won’t go as far as saying there’s none.

If anything, I will say it’s Takopi no Genzai.

While I did read the manga on MANGA Plus, it’s still not enough to get me excited to watch the anime, though.

I’m just not that much of a fan of the story.

If you’re fine with a story that revolves around twisted characters, then Takopi no Genzai may have been the best thing you’ve ever watched this summer.

However, if you don’t, that’s fine too.

My summer 2025 anime must-watch list can be a good starting point if you have no idea what new anime you should be watching this summer.

What you should know about my summer 2025 anime must-watch list

As you can see here, most of the anime that I’m currently watching happens to be the manga that I’ve recommended in the past.

While that’s good news for me, it also hinders me from discovering new manga and light novels to read.

After all, anime is my greatest resource for discovering new and interesting manga and light novels.

So, it’s somewhat sad that I don’t get to do it this season.

But I guess it’s okay considering that my summer 2025 anime lineup is pretty lit if you ask me.

And if you’re looking for a complete list of the anime that comes out this summer, you can take a look at the list right here.

With that said, let’s have a look at the anime that I’m currently watching this summer.

Dandadan

Dandadan Anime

Let’s be honest here, the first season of the anime somehow ended on a strange note. But at least the ending makes it clear there will be a second season.

And here we are.

To be honest, I’m not sure until what point of the story the anime will cover.

But considering how fast-paced the story in Dandadan is, I won’t be surprised if it can cover a lot of ground in the second season.

Let’s just hope that the second season doesn’t end on a strange note like it did for the first season.

And if you’re thinking about reading the manga, you can read my take on the manga here if you’re interested.

TL;DR, the manga is worth reading if you ask me.

Dr. Stone S4

Dr. Stone S4 Anime

If you’ve been reading this blog long enough, then you’ll know how much I enjoy watching Dr. Stone.

So, there’s no doubt it’s one of the anime that I’m looking forward to watching every week, besides Dandadan.

But as much as I enjoy the anime, it pains me a bit when I think about what’s to come after their fight with Stanley and his merry band of soldiers.

Fret not, I won’t spoil you on what happened after their long and brutal fight with Stanley and co.

But all I can say is to just be prepared, since it can be painful to watch even if it may only be for a few episodes.

And if you’re wondering if the manga is worth reading, then I highly recommend that you read my post about the manga here.

Just like Dandadan, it’s another manga that’s worth reading, especially if you’re a huge sucker for beautiful artwork.

Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun S2

Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun S2 Anime

Here’s another anime that continues from the first cour but has a proper ending, unlike its counterpart, Dandadan.

If you’re into the seven wonders of the mystery with a touch of comedy, then consider giving the anime a try.

But as always, I do recommend that you watch from the very beginning for better context.

And if you feel like wanting to give the manga a try, you can read my take about the manga here.

Kaijuu 8-gou

Kaiju No.8 S2 Anime

Hold on, what gives?

Didn’t I say in my recent post that I was thinking about dropping the anime altogether because of how dissatisfied I was with the manga’s ending?

So, why is the anime still on my list?

Did I change my mind about wanting to drop the anime after some time?

Okay, I admit that the manga’s final chapter falls flat for me.

That part about the manga doesn’t change.

But in hindsight, I don’t think the story is as bad as it seems despite its flaws in the final arc.

Should you give this anime and perhaps the manga a try?

The answer is yes to both.

You can read my thoughts about the manga here if you’d like.

As for the anime, I recommend that you watch from the beginning for better context.

But the good news is you don’t have to spend hours just to catch up since Kaiju No.8 Mission Recon movie can get you up to speed in two hours.

The movie covers everything that took place in the first season, in case you’re wondering.

Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru

Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru

It’s not surprising that the Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru anime is getting a second season, considering how well-received the first season was.

Sure, some people watched the anime because of how adorable Marin is.

But for some, the anime serves as a definitive guide to cosplaying since it covers everything about cosplaying.

It can be things like where to source the materials for the costume, to doing makeup that closely resembles the character you’re cosplaying.

While the anime doesn’t have a complicated storyline that requires you to watch it from the beginning, I still encourage you to do that for a better understanding.

Will I be reading the manga now that the second season is in full swing?

Maybe, but I’ll be reading the manga on Manga UP!, though.

If you prefer to have a copy of the manga instead, you can get it right here on Amazon:

Zutaboro Reijou wa Ane no Moto Konyakusha ni Dekiai sareru

Zutaboro Reijou Anime

Imagine when your parents favor your elder sister over you because of how beautiful and nice she is.

Not only do they favor your elder sister over you, but they also treat you like a maid.

For whatever reason, they think you’re ugly only because you were born with red hair and have freckles.

The worst part of all? They wish that you were the one who was dead instead of their beloved, beautiful daughter when she died in a tragic accident.

That seems to be the case for Marie, where their parents forced her to marry Lord Kyros as a replacement for her sister, who was supposed to marry him.

The story somehow reminded me of The Counterfeit’s Fateful Encounter manga, where it also has a similar story.

But the difference is that the parents don’t treat the main character like a maid, and the elder sister hates the main character just as much as the parents.

So, it’s great to know that Anastasia treats Marie like a sibling would. And it’s kind of sad too that someone like Anastasia died tragically.

This anime is a must-watch if you’re into romance anime, especially if you’re into the historical romance genre.

And if you’re thinking about getting the manga or the light novel, you will have to wait, though, since both versions will come out in January 2026.

If you’re thinking about pre-ordering it, you can do so right here on Amazon:

[Light Novel] Betrothed to My Sister’s Ex Vol 1 on Amazon

Will I be adding the manga or the light novel to my reading list?

For now, the answer is no unless I happen to get either of the manga or the light novel at a discount.
