After a long time, I decided to spruce up my winter 2026 anime list a little.
As you can see here, I always watched pretty much all anime that has a continuation from the previous season.
That seems to be the default whenever the new season comes around.
The continuation of the anime takes precedence over the new anime.
Well, that is until this season.
With so many anime continuing from the previous season on top of the new anime, I decided that something’s got to give.
And that unfortunate anime turns out to be Oshi no Ko and Hime-sama, Goumon no Jikan desu.
So, why did I decide to drop these anime when I’ve already watched them before?
If you think it has something to do with me starting to hate these anime, the answer is no.
I do think they’re fun to watch, especially Hime-sama, Goumon no Jikan desu.
It’s just that adding these two anime on top of what I’m watching now is too much for me, especially now that I don’t have the luxury to spend an hour or two a day to watch anime.
But then again, it’s not a bad trade-off either, considering that I’ve already read the manga before and knew the ending.
I’m fine with it, even if I have to drop the anime this season.
Will I ever get back to watching these two anime sometime?
Sad to say, the answer is probably not.
With so many interesting new anime coming out in every season, I have no reason to get back to watching these two anime when I’ve already read the manga.
The winter 2026 anime that made it to my list
While I did say that I had to drop Oshi no Ko and Hime-sama, Goumon no Jikan desu anime, it doesn’t mean I stop watching all anime that I’ve watched in the past.
In most cases, I will still watch them, since I didn’t follow the manga, with most of them already over at this point.
Thus, quite a handful of them are still in my winter 2026 anime watch list.
Moving forward, there’s a big chance I will have to do the same thing again for the next season.
With so many gazillions of stuff I have to do this year, I would want to spend most of my time working on my goals and reading more books.
I can’t do that when I spend most of my time catching up with the latest anime episodes every week.
Good for you if you only watch a handful of anime each week for this season.
But if you’re not sure what to watch, you can have a look at what anime I’m currently watching.
And if you’re looking for a complete list of winter 2026 anime, you can take a look at it right here.
Akuyaku Reijou wa Ringoku no Outaishi ni Dekiai sareru

It looks like the female-character-reincarnated-as-the-villainess-in-the-otome-game trope is in right now.
And what’s amusing about this kind of trope is that the character that we deem as the villainess isn’t really a villainess at all.
If anything, it’s always the main character of the game that is a pain to deal with.
Funnily enough, I actually enjoy watching this kind of anime, although romance anime isn’t my thing.
Perhaps it’s fine to watch something fluffy once in a while, I suppose?
If you’re fine with this kind of romance genre, then I will say give this anime a chance.
And if, for whatever reason, the ending isn’t up to your satisfaction, you can get the manga on Amazon if you’d like:
Read The Villainess is Adored by the Prince of the Neighbor Kingdom Chapter 1
Strangely enough, they choose to release the manga chapter by chapter as opposed to releasing it as a complete book.
But the good news is that the chapter one is free, though.
Enen no Shouboutai S3

Thankfully, it doesn’t take that long for the second part of the third season to come out.
You can bet that I will forget what the first part is all about if it takes them forever to release the second part.
I don’t have anything much to say other than not to jump straight into the third season, let alone the second part.
Unless you’ve read the manga before, I do recommend that you watch the anime from the beginning.
This isn’t the kind of anime that you know what the story is all about without a proper context.
Eris no Seihai

I can’t help but find that this anime somehow reminded me of Ginban Kaleidoscope.
The only difference is that we have a vengeance spirit possessing our Connie here to find out the truth behind her death sentence.
What’s even more interesting is that it opens tons of cans of worms.
It looks like the reason behind Scarlett’s prosecution isn’t as straightforward as it seems.
And it’s even more so when her death seems to tie back to the secret society.
If it sounds like it’s the anime version of Eyes Wide Shut, it actually is.
To be honest, I was a little hesitant to watch the anime at first, not because it has a yuri hint or anything.
It’s just that I can actually read the manga on MANGA Up!
Knowing me, I will certainly choose the manga first over the anime.
But since I do find the anime intriguing, I may as well continue watching it while I’m at it.
If you’re in the mood to watch a historical mystery, then this is another anime that is worth considering.
And if, for whatever reason, the anime somehow leaves you hanging, you can read the manga right here on MANGA Up!:
Read The Holy Grail of Eris manga on MANGA Up!
Now that I can read the manga on MANGA Up!, will I be adding it to my reading list?
Well, you bet I will.
Expect to hear me talking about the manga any time soon on my blog, that is, if I find the manga does it justice, just like the anime.
Golden Kamuy

Well, it’s the final season.
Of course, I’m going to watch it since I didn’t follow the manga.
Just like Enen no Shouboutai, this is also another anime that you can jump right into without the proper context.
So if you find the premise interesting, then I highly suggest you watch it from the beginning.
Just to let you know that while the anime does have tons of violent scenes, it also has quite a handful of strange but funny scenes.
If you’re familiar with Satoru Nodas’s other manga, Dogsred, then you’ll know what I’m talking about.
Consider yourself warned if you decide to watch this anime from the beginning.
Jigokuraku

If my anime policy applies here, shouldn’t Jigokuraku also be one of the anime that will never make it to my list?
So, why is Jigokuraku the exception then?
Yes, I won’t deny that Jigokuraku shouldn’t make it to the list, considering it’s also another manga that I read till the end.
But the reason why Jigokuraku is in the list is that it’s my kind of anime.
The mystery surrounding the island and the violent fight scenes.
Those are the things that I find the story in Jigokuraku intriguing.
The only unfortunate part is that I can’t seem to remember where the story left off.
You can say that I have a hard time trying to recall what they were trying to do when the first season came out ages ago.
Whether the second season will be the final season is something that I’m not sure of, since the manga is pretty long.
But hey, I don’t mind if there will be another season, as long as the next season won’t be years apart.
If you attempt to watch this anime, I always recommend that you watch it from the beginning.
Or you can also read the manga if you’re in the mood for binge-reading.
Not sure if you should give this manga a shot?
You can read my thoughts about the manga here if you’re curious.
Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai

You’re not wrong to think that Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai feels like the pre-school version of Dark Gathering because it really is.
But it doesn’t mean that it’s not on the same par as Dark Gathering.
If anything, all the things that happen in Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai tend to hit home a lot more than the ones in Dark Gathering.
For one, things like kids saying that they’re seeing something spooky in someone’s house.
Sure, the adult will brush things off, saying that the kids are having a wild imagination of some sort.
But what if they’re not imagining things?
If there’s one key takeaway from this anime is that never brush off what the kids are saying, even if it sounds ridiculous to our adult minds.
While the anime is indeed a horror anime, it’s still tolerable to watch, even for the scaredy-cat.
Not sure how much the anime will cover, but I won’t be surprised if the anime only covers a tiny fraction of the story in the manga.
Feel like wanting to continue where the anime left off? You can get the manga right here on Amazon:

Seihantai na Kimi to Boku

Here’s the funny part about Seihantai na Kimi to Boku – I actually enjoy reading the manga.
But for whatever reason, I just didn’t have a chance to recommend this manga on my blog until the manga officially ended for good.
Well, it’s hard to recommend the manga when the manga you enjoy reading can end prematurely at any given moment.
Thus, my decision to hold off recommending the manga on my blog.
The good news is the manga doesn’t end prematurely.
If anything, it ends just as I expect, except for these two characters, though.
Here we are, thinking that these two will end up together in the end, but the status of their relationship seems vague at best.
If you’ve read the manga before, I’m sure you know who I’m referring to.
I can’t say for sure how much the anime will cover, since I doubt the anime version will cover everything.
But never fear, you can always get the manga version right here on Amazon if you crave for more Tani and Suzuki moments:

Sousou no Frieren S2

Here’s the thing about Sousou no Frieren – I’ve already heard about the anime getting a second season.
But I didn’t want to get my hopes up, considering that the manga was on hiatus.
Alas, the anime proceeded as planned despite the hiatus.
And here we are, the second season of the anime is right here.
I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not into the fantasy anime.
But for some reason, I enjoy watching the anime despite its laidback approach to going for an adventure.
On the surface, this anime may seem like something you can jump into right away without having to watch the previous season.
But I still don’t recommend you do that since there’s a big chance the story doesn’t make much sense to you if you don’t.
If you’re thinking about giving this anime a try, then I highly suggest that you watch the anime from the beginning.
