Since the year 2021 is already upon us, I was thinking about sharing with you my plan for this year.
In case you’re wondering, it’s a tradition for me to share with people about my plan for the year on my blog.
I already did the same last year. I even share my reading challenge for the year 2020 on this blog too. If you’re curious about my plan for the year 2020, you can read the blog post right here.
I will talk about my reading goal for this year in the coming week. If you’re interested in knowing my reading goal for the year 2020, you can read the blog post right here.
My year 2020 in a nutshell
As much as it pains me to admit it, 2020 wasn’t my best year.
The reason for that is because I didn’t achieve any of the goals that I set for that year despite only setting two goals for that year.
Yes, I didn’t get to publish the third book from the Trigger Locked series in 2020. And I also didn’t get to distribute my books to other retailers and libraries as well.
Why did I fail to achieve any of the goals? Is it because of the pandemic?
The answer is no. I just never thought that it took me longer than I expected to write the book.
I’ll go into detail about why it took me longer to write the book in my future blog post. But for now, you can rest assured that the delay has nothing to do with me consuming pandemic-related news, which I didn’t.
With my full attention on the book, it means that I didn’t have the capacity to achieve my second goal which is to have my books available on other retailers such as Google PlayBook.
My plan for the year 2021
Since I didn’t achieve any of the goals that I set for the year 2020, then it’s not surprising at all that my goals for the year 2021 will still be the same as the ones I set for the year 2020.
I will still be going to publish the third book from the Trigger Locked series. And my plan to distribute my books to Google PlayBook and also other retailers and libraries remain intact.
When will the book be released?
Well, I have no idea when it will be. But it won’t be long since I will begin with doing copyediting and proofreading for the book in early February. If everything is moving on schedule, then you can expect the book to be released somewhere around April to May this year.
I also have a plan to start writing the fourth book from the series this year as well. But knowing my writing speed, I doubt that you can expect me to release the fourth book within the same year.
And my plan to distribute my books to Google PlayBook and other retailers and libraries? I can only do that once I’m done with the third book from the Trigger Locked series.
As always, I’ll let you know when my books are available in these places. If you already sign up for my mailing list, you’ll be the first to know about it.
What about this blog?
The good news is my plan for this blog will remain the same. I will still be blogging about interesting manga, light novels, and nonfiction books on this blog.
Of course, I won’t be writing about what books to read all the time on my blog. But you can expect that will be the type of content that you’ll get from my blog for the most part.
My personal goal for this year
Unlike the previous year, my personal goal for this year is different this time. Rather than focusing on improving my Japanese, my focus for this year tends to be more on the creative pursuit such as graphic and interior design.
Does it mean that I’m abandoning my goal to be fluent in Japanese?
Of course, the answer is no. I will still be learning Japanese like I always do. It’s just that I want to focus more on doing something creative this time.
For some reason, I find doing something like graphic and the interior design feels so liberating to me. And I find it fun too.
So yes, you can expect me to do more of these for this year and also for the years to come.
Nothing sets in stone
As you can see here, things can change with a blink of an eye. So I may have to change my plan if the situation calls for it.
Don’t worry about it. I will let you know if I decided to make changes to my plan.
But for the time being, this is what I intend to do for the year 2021.
Let’s just hope that you’ll hear good news from me once we’re approaching the end of the year 2021 or early 2022.
