Danganronpa 3 Future Arc

This blog post about Danganronpa 3: Future Arc contains spoiler. Never say I’ve never warned you.

I enjoy watching Danganronpa anime. Sure, the premise isn’t that different from a murder mystery anime like Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbou. But the anime does have a fascinating concept.

For one, the characters in Danganronpa are gifted people. They’re not just any gifted people, though. They have a gifted ability that tops everyone who has a similar talent. You can say that they’re the best among the best.

Of many Danganronpa, I have to say that Danganronpa 3: Future Arc caught my attention the most because of this reason: the anime highlights the usage of subliminal message to kill people.

The subliminal concept in Danganronpa 3: Future Arc

My second book from the Trigger Locked series, A Silent Killer, also use the same concept as Danganronpa 3: Future Arc. So, you may already be familiar with the subliminal concept if you already read the book.

Just like in A Silent Killer, the subliminal effect seen in Danganronpa 3: Future Arc has specific conditions need to be met.

The first condition is the target must fall asleep right in front of the TV. The target doesn’t have to be someone specific. Anyone will do as long as there’s someone sleeping right in front of the TV.

Why does the target need to be asleep? The reason for that is because the subliminal message works best when the target is asleep. It’s much easier for the subliminal message to affect the deeper level of their subconscious mind when they’re sleeping.

The TV will begin to play a video of Monokuma not long after that. That’s when the video will begin to induce a subliminal message to anyone who sleeps right in front of the TV. In other words, Monokuma video serves as a brainwashing mechanism.

As a result, the target will begin to see an illusion of people the target knows in real life who are already dead. What’s even worst, these people will make the target feels guilty for letting them die in vain. And the only way for the target to stop the guilt is to commit suicide.

At the same time, the TV will also disperse a knife to make the suicide process easier. Thanks to the subliminal message, the target can’t even tell what’s real and what’s an illusion.

I bet that you already know what will happen after that.

Pretty scary, right?

Can the subliminal message kill people that fast?

Here’s the thing about the subliminal message we see in Danganronpa 3: Future Arc. It’s true that subliminal message can alter our subconscious mind. And it’s easier for it to take effect when we’re asleep.

But the effect won’t be fast, though. It takes a couple of listens for us to experience the effect. Sure, the effect may vary on individuals. So, most people tend to feel the subliminal effect within three weeks of being exposed to it.

Based on my understanding, the effect is much faster for the gifted people thanks to them being aware of their subconscious mind.

That explains why the subliminal effect works fast on the target in Danganronpa 3: Future Arc. After all, they’re the best even among the gifted people with similar ability.

That’s not the same for the victims in A Silent Killer

Unlike in Danganronpa 3: Future Arc, the subliminal effect isn’t that prominent for the victims in A Silent Killer until a couple of weeks later.

After all, the victims are just your average people. So, it takes a couple of listens until there’s a significant change in their thoughts and behavior.

That makes it much harder for Touka to stop the subliminal message from affecting the victims because it all depends on the victims itself.

Not to mention, she has no idea for how long the victims have been exposed to the subliminal message. For all she knows, they may already be exposed to it for such a long time before it comes to her attention.

The subliminal message isn’t as bad as you thought

Based on Danganronpa 3: Future Arc and my book, A Silent Killer, you may feel that the usage of subliminal message is dangerous.

But then again, most people don’t use the subliminal message to kill people. Or at the very least, to spread the satanic subliminal message using a backmasking technique.

Instead, many people use the subliminal message to help them to focus more, kicking the bad habits and even improving their memory.

These subliminal messages contain positive affirmations. At first, you may find that listening to these affirmations silly. That is always the case when you don’t seem to buy these affirmations at first.

But after listening to it every day for a few weeks, you realize that these affirmations begin to shape your thoughts. After all, everything begins with your mind.

The reason why I’m saying this is because I did listen to the subliminal tracks before. So, it makes sense why I seem to be familiar with the subliminal concept.

If you find it hard to change about yourself, then it’s worth giving subliminal tracks a shot.

There are quite a few subliminal tracks that work wonders for your wellbeing out there. One of the subliminal tracks I’ve listened to is the one by Dr. Steve G. Jones. You can take a look at his subliminal recording if you’re interested.

And don’t worry, they’re not as potent as the one you’ve seen in Danganronpa 3: Future Arc and my book, A Silent Killer.
